Thanks to state-of-the-art power electronics, maintenance-free electric drives can now be built both as asynchronous three-phase motors, as BLDC or PMAC motors with a very high level of efficiency and a large power range. As a shaft drive or sail drive, they are directly compatible with a built-in diesel engine without having any of the disadvantages. |

But also for smaller boats there exists modern electric propulsion systems, for example an electric outboard motor or ideally an electric POD drive Thanks to the superior torque characteristic of the electric motor, a 1600W (2.2 HP) electric outboard has the same thrust as a 4 HP petrol outboard. |

We have also developed customer-specific conversion kits for converting existing Sail drive and Z-drives from combustion engines to an electric prpulsion system.Here, the existing drive and possibly also the reversing gear can continue to be used. Only the combustion engine is replaced by the electric motor. This often represents a very economical and, above all, ecologically sustainable alternative to a completely new drive. |
