Electric Sail Drive ESD
The electric saildrive is the ideal alternative to the built-in diesel engine for larger boats from around 7m ship length, both in inland areas with its high environmental protection requirements and for use at sea.
Regardless of whether you plan to use the electric Saildrive as initial equipment buying a new yacht or you intend it to replace the existing built-in diesel engine, an electric SailDrive from the ESD series is always the ideal, easy-to-implement solution for an environmentally friendly, carbon free, quiet, space-saving, robust and powerful drive.
Other advantages include the very sensitive and quick-reacting engine speed setting, as well as the quick changeover between forward and reverse travel due to the omission of a reversing gear.
It is installed on the standard Yanmar sail drive foundation, but existing Volvo or other foundation bases can also be used with an appropriate adapter plate. The rest of the assembly work then only amounts to tightening several M10 nuts and of course the electrical connection.
We use the proven Yanmar SD25 sail drive lower part gearbox as a basis and equip it with an electric drive head developed by us The sail drive ESD has a standard shaft outlet with the usual Sail Drive 25mm splined shaft.

Heat excanger, fittings, hoses and seawater circuit pump are not a part of the delivery contents, but can optionally be supplied as a complete kit!
Since the propeller is a very individual matter, it is not included in the delivery contents. However, we are happy to help you with the design and deliver the propeller that is optimally tailored to your ship.
On request, we can also supply pre-assembled connection cable sets for the battery and charger connection for your ship with all the necessary components and detailed documentation with installation instructions, parts list and schematic.
Various chargers, variants of the single-lever throttles, various battery monitoring and display systems, tachometer and, of course, the necessary batteries are also available from us.
